Can I access my account through FTP?
Yes. The account can be accessed through FTP.
A File Transfer Protocol (FTP) program transfers files from the local (client) computer to a remote server on the Internet, where the files are stored. Several free FTP programs for client computers are available for download from the Internet.
Important:
If you are using FrontPage to develop your Website, use only the FrontPage Publish utility to upload files; using an FTP program to upload files could corrupt the FrontPage Extensions.
To upload files to the Website using FTP protocol:
- Click Start, Programs, and FTP. The Session Profile window appears.
- Type your domain name in the Host Name field. For example, your_domain.com.
- Type your user ID in the User ID field.
- Type your password in the Password field.
- Click OK. The FTP window appears displaying two columns of file names. The column on the left displays files on your computer. The column on the right displays directories and files on your account.
- Navigate to the www/htdocs or usr/local/etc/httpd/htdocs folder on your account (the right side of the dialog). This is the directory where you will store your Web content.
- Hold the Shift key down and use your mouse to select the files or directories that you want to transfer from your computer to your Virtual Server.
- Click --> (the right-pointing arrow between the columns). The selected files and directories are uploaded.
To upload files to the Website through the Control Panel:
